AProfessional Career Readiness Dimension I have done very well so far in the Professional competency dimension as I do well with most of every bullet point listed on the competency list. The entire department I'm in, which is Accounting and Finance, communicates extremely well and there is a sense of comradery at all times that everyone, including myself, works hard to establish and keep. We get all of our projects and assignments done on time and make sure to keep our time well managed, save for one project but we are working hard on ways to fix the errors we made on that project with time management. As the year has been going on I definitely feel a sense of progression in my field, I feel as though my skills with the accounting and finance department are slowly developing. I hope to continue this feeling of progression as we get farther and farther into the year. I make sure to always try and attack a problem head on with creativity and professionalism, as those two things are some of the most important to me in the VEI setting. I'm now able to check my bank account, access the portal with ease, purchase items easily and stimulate the economy, and access the company bank account to see how our financials are doing. I also have learned a lot more about Microsoft excel and how it makes everything accounting wise so much easier. I hope to slowly but surely become even more and more proficient in these things, such as understanding and being able to create even better excel spreadsheets that help the company even more, so I can become a better and better employee over the course of our year at Spectrum. I've gotten a pretty good amount of marketing experience just by being in the department and working with my new coworkers. We've done things like brainstorm new package and product ideas, come up with activities and ideas for our trade show booth, and create things like brochures to advertise and show off the company at things like trade shows. We've also looked at our financials to do things like figure out which packages are selling the most and to focus our efforts on selling to those packages and creating special events just for them, like what we're currently doing with our super bowl package. This was just your every day conflict where one person felt that they weren't getting enough communication and then being blamed for things that they didn't even know were going on. I decided to step in and help resolve the conflict. Neither side would budge on their views but I was able to give both of them a compromise. I was able to help resolve the conflict in a very peaceful and healthy way. My coworker was able to get the communication that he needed and wasn't blamed for things he wasn't responsible for again and our CEO was happy that his workers were happy and things were going smoothly again. I've gone from barely being able to create spreadsheets to helping create marketing promotions, manning the company's twitter, and even helping design with some things that they're making. One thing that stands out the most with my new technology skills is the brochure that I helped think of and create for our pool party package when it came out. My team. Another accomplishment of mine is that I've been manning the companies twitter and tweeting almost every day we're here with marketing promotions and other social media promotions to help the company get known and be more recognizable. My overall technology skills have definitely improved a great amount since the beginning of the year.
